Common questions

Will this get my CV through an ATS? No tool can promise that, and we do not. CV Maker removes the usual reasons a file parses badly — it is single-column, uses standard headings, writes real selectable text with the font embedded and keeps dates in one format. Whether you are shortlisted depends on what the CV says and on the employer.

Where did my CV go? The draft and the archive live in your browser's storage on that one device. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or opening the site on another computer means starting empty. We never had a copy — that is the same property that keeps your employment history off our servers.

I lost my licence code. Write to us with the email address you used at Stripe checkout and roughly when you subscribed, and we will look it up.

How do I cancel? Open the site with your licence active and use "Manage subscription" in the footer; that opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal and Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for.

The checklist says a date is not readable. Dates are expected as YYYY-MM (for example 2021-03) or just YYYY. Leave the end date empty and tick "I still work here" for your current position.

Can I add a photo? Not in this version. Whether a photo belongs on a CV depends on the country; the guide on the site has the country notes.

PDF or Word? PDF, unless the posting says otherwise. If an employer insists on .docx, paste your sections into a plain single-column document.

The PDF prints at the wrong size. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" / 100% rather than "Fit to page". Pick A4 or US Letter in the editor to match your printer's paper.
